Victorian Underquoting Laws Strengthen Transparency

Victoria has introduced new property sales and underquoting laws, effective October 1, 2026, requiring agents to disclose the seller's reserve price seven days before an auction and publish sold prices within seven days of an unconditional sale. A new Property Price Statement also replaces the Statement of Information.

These changes could benefit buyers and investors in Melbourne's western growth corridor by providing clearer pricing information, potentially reducing uncertainty and enabling more informed purchasing decisions in a competitive market.
